Postgraduate study


After finishing the public administration career, I am interested in taking the "Gender approach in management and public policy" diploma at the Instituto de Asuntos Públicos of the Universidad de Chile.
The reasons to do this course are related to my interest in the incorporation of gender perspective in the public policy design. I consider it important to recognize that the roles, rights and obligations of women and men are culturally and socially determined unequally and hierarchically, therefore, it is necessary to consider differently the requirements, interests and priorities of both in the formulation of policies and programs,
in addition to applying mechanisms and tools that tend to eliminate gender inequities.
The subject that interests me most to study of the curriculum is "Design and analysis of public policies for gender equality and equity: case studies".
I would take the postgraduate diploma in Chile and "part time", because I need time to work and thus be able to pay for the course.
It should be noted that despite having an interest in doing this postgraduate course, I am still unsure of what may happen in the future, I am not even sure of finishing the career but if everything goes well, I hope to fulfill this desire. Even if I have the financial means I would also like to take a course outside the country.

The country I would like to go is Italia because it catches my attention its culture, food and landscape. What I know about this country is that it has a very extensive cultural heritage and little of its gastronomy.   If I had the opportunity to go I would like to visit as many museums as possible and contemplate the architecture of its cities, especially the oldest, for example "Florencia". Besides, I would like to eat the gastronomic specialty of each region; however, I would prefer the vegetarian option, because I’m vegetarian for more than a year. My future job

When I was in school, I always felt more affinity with the humanities than with mathematics and sciences. For this reason I thought to be a history teacher (because the subject that I liked the most was history), however, I preferred to see other options as I was not really seeing myself as a teacher in the future. I think don’t have the ability to teach or explain things, besides, the labor field in Chile that is not the most optimal. I decided to study Public Administration for reasons of employability, since it has several areas in which we can work, for example in the direction of public organizations, high-level advice on public affairs, research and dissemination of knowledge about public affairs and management and coordination in the public policy process.   Nevertheless, sometimes I think that working on these things is a bit boring; I think that office hours and being in front of a computer all day is a bit tiring and stressful.
